Bobert and the Monster

An ongoing humor comic series following Bobert, a regular human who loves to pester his monstrous neighbor (who, by the way, thinks "Monster" is just a normal name). This comic is for fans of classic comic book humor or just looking for a good laugh.

Follow their slapstick adventures and endless pranks and constant hi-jinks.

The Characters

Bobert

Bobert

An everyday guy trying to live a normal life in a world occupied by monsters. But he's the one they are afraid of. His favorite pastime is making monsters miserable.

Monster

Monster

A pretty chill and naive character, who just happens to be a monster. Ultimately good-hearted, but always seems to get into trouble. Especially if Bobert is around.

Me (Sort Of)

Me (Sort Of)

This is the way I draw myself for my diary comic "Then This Happened". I may draw myself as a cartoon but this comic is my REAL daily life.

Merijoy (Sort Of)

Merijoy (Sort Of)

This is the way my wife Merijoy is drawn for my diary comic "Then This Happened". The comic mostly involves the two of us and our daily life.

About the Artist

Hey! I'm Tom Ray the cartoonist behind HomeMade Cartoons. I create comics and illustrations inspired by everyday life, vintage Gold Key and Dell Comics aesthetics, and the early cartoons of the 1960s.

My work blends hand-drawn comic art with digital tools, aiming for that indie zine feel - a little wonky, a lot colorful, and always authentic. I'm influenced by classic comic strips, indie comics, and the neon-noir vibe of shows like Mission Hill.

When I'm not drawing comics, I'm writing and recording music for my experimental art rock band Lorenzo's Music, watching animated shows, or hunting estate sales looking for vintage toys, games and books to sell for my online store The Pop Culture Roadshow.

This site is my home for the cartoons I create - a place to share comics, drawings, videos of my process, and random thoughts about art and life. Thanks for stopping by HomeMade Cartoons!
